摘要
The second AIDS Vaccine meeting, AIDS Vaccine 2003, included scientists, policy makers, community advocates and people with an interest in vaccine concepts and trials. While no single strategy is yet emerging that has a clear advantage in the development of an effective vaccine, new concepts are being conceived, and a greater understanding of the nuances of cross-reactive immunogenicity is developing. Many concepts are moving from hypothesis to the initial stages of immunogenicity testing in animals, and some have progressed to safety and toxicity testing in humans. Included within these strategies is the use of modified monomeric and oligomeric envelope 蛋白質s as immunogens, with the expectation that they may reveal stable, exposed, neutralizing epitopes.
