摘要
Human 疾病 智能體s can get transmitted both horizontally-through infection-and vertically-from parent to offspring. Depending on details of their 演化ary dynamics, they may increase or decrease in virulence over time. The 演化ary dynamics of 細菌l transposable elements resembles that of human pathogens in these and other respects. I here briefly highlight similarities and differences in the two 演化ary processes. I also suggest that an 流行病學ological perspective, combined with future estimates of parameters of transposable element 演化 from hundreds of 基因組s, may yield insights into the forces that maintain transposable elements in 細菌l 族群s.
