摘要
A 族群 in a novel environment will accumulate adaptive 突變s over time, and the dynamics of this process depend on the underlying 適應度景觀: the fitness of and 突變al distance between possible genotypes in the 族群. Despite its fundamental importance for understanding the 演化 of a 族群, inferring this landscape from empirical data has been problematic. We develop a theoretical framework to describe the 適應 of a 隨機, asexual, unregulated, polymorphic 族群 undergoing beneficial, neutral and deleterious 突變s on a correlated 適應度景觀. We generate quantitative predictions for the change in the mean fitness and within-族群 variance in fitness over time, and find a simple, analytical relationship between the distribution of fitness effects arising from a single 突變, and the change in mean 族群 fitness over time: a variant o
