摘要
Aim Understanding the drivers of 森林 structure, function and change is a fundamental problem in both theoretical 生態學 and applied 森林ry for carbon mapping and monitoring. An important component of 森林 生態學 research often utilizes allometric equations to scale up local measurements to predict largescale 森林 and ecosystem-level properties. However, both applied and theoretical allometries in 森林 生態學 (such as metabolic 縮放律 theory, MST) assume that many 縮放律 relationships are insensitive to broad-scale 氣候 gradients or 物種 life histories. We aim to test these assumptions by mapping continentalscale 森林 allometry across environmental gradients in the United States. Location United States. Methods We fit exponents to two allometric relationships in c. 100,000 森林 Inventory Analysis (FIA) field plots: (1) th
