摘要
The arrangement of a sequence of stimuli affects how humans perceive 資訊. Here, the authors show experimentally that humans perceive 資訊 in a way that depends on the 網絡 structure of stimuli. Humans communicate using systems of interconnected stimuli or concepts-from 語言 and music to literature and science-yet it remains unclear how, if at all, the structure of these 網絡s supports the communication of 資訊. Although 資訊 theory provides tools to quantify the 資訊 produced by a system, traditional metrics do not account for the inefficient ways that humans process this 資訊. Here, we develop an analytical framework to study the 資訊 generated by a system as perceived by a human observer. We demonstrate experimentally that this perceived 資訊 depends critically on a system's 網絡 topology. Applying our framewo
