摘要
生物 allometries, such as the 縮放律 of 代謝 to mass, are hypothesized to result from 自然選擇 to maximize how vascular 網絡s fill space yet minimize internal transport distances and resistance to blood flow. Metabolic 縮放律 theory argues two guiding principles-conservation of fluid flow and space-filling 碎形 distributions-describe a 多樣性 of 生物 網絡s and predict how the geometry of these 網絡s influences organismal 代謝. Yet, mostly absent from past efforts are studies that directly, and independently, measure metabolic rate from respiration and vascular architecture for the same organ, organism, or tissue. Lack of these measures may lead to inconsistent results and conclusions about 代謝, growth, and allometric 縮放律. We present simultaneous and consistent measurements of metabolic 縮放律 exponents from clinical image
