摘要
The dynamics of 適應, reversion, and compensation have been central topics in microbial 演化, and several studies have attempted to resolve the 族群 遺傳s underlying how these dynamics occur. However, questions remain regarding how certain features-the 演化 of mutators and whether compensatory 突變s alleviate costs fully or partially-may influence the 演化ary dynamics of compensation and reversion. In this study, we attempt to explain findings from experimental 演化 by utilizing 計算 and theoretical approaches toward a more refined understanding of how 突變 rate and the fitness effects of compensatory 突變s influence adaptive dynamics. We find that high 突變 rates increase the probability of reversion toward the wild type when compensation is only partial. However, the existence of even a single fully compensator
